About

I'm Kelly. For more than twenty years my work has been helping people feel understood: counseling, teaching, client communication, and the kind of conversations where tone matters more than vocabulary. New clients tend to leave those conversations calmer than they arrived. That's the quality I bring to the mic.

My voice is a natural alto with a light Fort Worth warmth that I can turn up for a little Texas or smooth out for a national read. I'm comfortable anywhere from a friendly twenty-something to a trusted professional. I've been on a microphone for church since my early twenties and spent a year co-hosting a weekly radio program, so the mic feels like home. I record from my studio in Burleson, just south of Fort Worth, and I take direction well and enjoy the collaboration.

That background shows up in practical ways. In my nonprofit work, I've written a playbook of more than 45 pages, much of it scripted client messaging, and I wrote and taught a six-week curriculum. I led a monthly training for volunteer counselors for five years and taught a weekly parenting class. I also completed nursing coursework with clinical rotations at Cook Children's Hospital, so medical terms and benefits language come out smooth.

When I'm not behind the mic…

  • Drumline! WGI, DCI and seven years of volunteering, from pushing a 400-pound marimba to designing and building marching and drumline props. We still cheer on the high school kids we know at marching competitions and travel to Dayton, Ohio, for the WGI Drumline World Championships.
  • Anything involving design. Fair warning: I'll always want to see the interior of your space!
  • Drawing my own designs and hand-embroidering them onto what I call my “tattoo sweatshirt.” I keep adding to it.
  • Playing the ukulele.
  • Quoting Fantastic Mr. Fox and Clue, two of the most quotable movies ever made.
  • Serving on the leadership team for my church's prophetic ministry, where I often minister to and pray with people, help lead and teach from time to time. If you need prayer for something, let's pause what we're doing and I'll pray with you.

Tell me what you're making.
